Alexander’s involvement in sport began at the age of 6 where he was coached by V. Andrienko. After graduating from Dzerzhinka sports school he moved to Lugansk to continue his education. Currently he is in his 5th year of studying physical education at the National Pedagogical University.

Whilst studying in the region Alexander has made huge amounts of progress and has already achieved a great deal. He is a multiple Ukrainian team and Olympic rings champion and has won at the World Cup three times. However his best achievement came in December, 2006 – in the World Cup final in San Paolo, where he finished 2nd in the rings.

Over the years Alexander has improved his skills enormously with the help of his award winning coach, Alexander Gorin, who has been working with him at the Sports High Performance College.

2008, started well with an impressive Gold Medal at the Ukrainian National Championships, despite the lack of competition over the winter period. Alexander competed at the 2008 National Championships in June, where he qualified for the Olympic Games in Beijing.
