Borislava Perić was born in 1972 in the Serbian town of Becej. She became paralysed after an unfortunate injury at work in 1994.

She started playing table tennis relatively late at the age of 30, in quite a conservative manner, however after a year she became so good that she qualified for the Slovakian International Cup.

Borislava initially entered competitions merely to discover the quality of International opposition; the idea of winning at that stage wasn’t something she had contemplated.

However by 2004 she had won her first team medal (in doubles). More success soon followed. In 2006 she won a silver medal in her first singles final at the Open HIT 19th T.T International tournament in Slovenia. As time passed by she improved and climbed the World Table Tennis Rankings. The goal of qualifying for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games has already been achieved.

Towards the end of 2007, Borislava enjoyed a bronze medal in the singles competition and silver in the team event at the Croatian Open.

At the end of 2007, Borislava competed at the World Cup in Pula, where again she was successful picking up a bronze and a silver in the in the singles and doubles respectively.

Her most recent competition was at the Slovakian Open in Piestany from the 28th until the 31st of May, 2008. Here Borislava won Silver in the Women’s Open class, a very good result.

She retains her position at the top of the World rankings for the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games.
