Goran started his rowing career relatively late at the age of 16, but this did not prevent him from achieving outstanding results, both at a national and international level.

After winning his first medal in 2002 he decided to turn professional and to compete on the international circuit.

In 2005 Goran won a gold medal in the Men’s Four event in the Under 23 World Championship.

In 2006 he began rowing with the highly experienced World Champion medallist Nikola Stojic. The media has commented that they have a great mixture of youth and experience, which will be beneficial for Goran’s development.

Currently he is studying at Belgrade University for a degree in Sport Science.

Goran has undertaken a long winter training program, which has taken him to Kotor, Slovenia and Italy. This will hopefully ensure he benefits from the best physical preparation possible in advance of the summer.

Goran has very high expectations going into the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and he is extremely motivated to win a medal.
