Lidija is currently the number 3 ranked Rifle Shot in the world.

Her sporting career dates back to 1980 when she started shooting for a local club in a town called Nis, where she still lives today.

Since 1989 she has consistently been a member of the national team.

Lidija has been the national champion of Yugoslavia and Serbia and Montenegro on numerous occasions.

Lidija participated at the Barcelona 1992 Olympic Games. After that she did not qualify for the next three Olympic Games however she has high hopes for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Nowadays she is fully engaged in the shooting club in Nis where she trains, and coaches young sportsmen to achieve their goals.

The winter has been spent training in Serbia without any competition, so it was a huge relief for Lidija to finally compete at a domestic tournament in Novi Sad, and shoot a near perfect score of 399/400!

This was followed on by the European Championships in Switzerland, but she couldn’t convert the form from early in the year, and finished outside of the medal positions.

Over the past month, Lidija competed at the ISSF World Cup which was held in Munich, Germany (15th-22nd of May).

No medals were achieved; however Lidija broke the Serbian National Record in the 3x20m Rifle (three positions) discipline.

The next leg of the ISSF World Cup was held in Milan, Italy (22nd-30th of May). Unfortunately Lidija wasn’t placed but it provided a good opportunity for some practice against the competition she’s sure to meet in Beijing.

Lidija has already successfully qualified for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, thanks to her success in Zagreb in 2006.
